Welcome to the website of Tír na nÓg Naíonra (pre-school). Tír na nÓg Naíonra, part-time & School Age Childcare (SAC) service is located on the grounds of Gaelscoil na gCeithre Máistrí (F94 T863), beside Drumbar football fields. We are a play-based service, delivered through the medium of Irish (Gaeilge). No prior knowledge of the language is required. The Irish language is gently introduced through repetition and routine, which gives context to the language and helps enhance comprehension. We deliver the Aistear (curriculum framework) and Síolta (quality framework), in a child-led, inquiry-based, developmentally-friendly, and fun environment. We also provide a Part-Time service and a School Age Childcare (SAC) service. Please contact Eibhlín (Eileen) on the above number to discuss your childcare needs.

Our Goal

Our goal as Stiúrthóirí (preschool teachers) at Tír na nÓg Naíonra is to nurture the creativity and potential of each child. We achieve this through play-based, structured, guided, innovative, stimulating, and child-led learning activities, based on the child’s own interests.

Governance

Standards of Health, Safety and Welfare are governed through legislation by the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016. Tusla and the Department of Education and Skills are the regulatory and inspection bodies, responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all Naíonra attendees.

We offer a variety of stimulating, inquiry-based, child-led, safe, and age-appropriate activities, in a spacious learning environment, to help build problem-solving skills, confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.

ECCE SCHEME

We are participants in the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme which provides early childhood care and education for children of preschool age. The scheme is offered in early years settings (preschools, Montessori’s, creches, playgroups) for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, 38 weeks of the year.Read More ⇛

NCS SCHEME

We are participants in the National Childcare Scheme (NCS) which provides financial support to help with your childcare costs. There are two types of childcare subsidy for children aged between 24 weeks and 15 years of age: You can apply online for the subsidy using your MyGovID. Your childcare provider, must be registered with Tusla and have a National Childcare Scheme .
